Free Health Check -up for 2 days( 30- 31st August, 2012) organized by NSS Unit and Gestione (Management Club) in association with GMCH, Sector- 32, Chandigarh in College campus
NSS Unit and Gestione (Management Club) in collabration with Government Medical college and Hospital, sector- 32, organized a talk on 28th August,2012, Awareness regarding Metabolism Sydromes in the college premises. The talk was headed by Dr Anumeha Bhagat.
On 7th August 2012, a seminar was organised in Gccba-42 by the students of Environment Society ‘AVNI’ on the theme ‘MY EARTH, MY DUTY’. the members of the Senior Citizen Association interacted with the students and presented power point slides sharing their views on how to keep our environment nature friendly. The celebration was concluded by the tree plantation wherein the senior citizens, teachers and students together planted around 150 saplings.
The students of GCCBA-42 Environment Society “AVNI” in collaboration with NSS unit presented a skit on “MY EARTH, MY DUTY” which was staged at Government Polytechnic College, Sector -10, Chandigarh on 7th August 2012. Then a rally was flagged off where in the students of various colleges and schools participated to create awareness amongst the local residents and mark the importance of the environment.
Eye Donation Pledge
11th January 2012
Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 42, Chandigarh organised an Eye donation pledge in the college campus today on the eve of the National Youth Day. The students and staff of the college participated with enthusiasm, 130 students and faculty members undertook the pledge to donate eyes and to spread awarness among the fellow students and friends. Dr. Gaurav Gaur , Assistant Professor in the department of social work was the resource person for the event. Principal of the college Mrs. Manjit Kaur welcomed the resource person and spread awarness regarding the importance of eye donation among the students.
26-11-2011: The NSS volunteers organised a one day camp on the theme of AIDS awareness , the camp began with a 2 minute silence for the victims of 26-11 ” The fallen Heroes”, Thereafter, the NSS Girls wing president Monica Dhillon presented a talk on AIDS and its current position in India. The talk was followed by a Speech by Mr. Pushpinder on communal Harmony. Earlier on a talk was conducted in which Dr. Gaurav Gaur, a noted social worker and campaigner of AIDS awareness conducted a workshop on AIDS awareness and sensitization of the volunteers, in this a NGO consisting of HIV + women spoke to the volunteers and answered various questions put forward by the students. The Volunteers actively participated and presented a great amount interest and concern on the issue.
